Last night i left my curtains open in the hope the sunshine would warm my lounge area up.
When i closed my bedroom door i was then worried some light would get through the gap between the door and the wall so i wedged a fleecy top in to the top of the door and hanged it from there down the side of the door to block some light so as not to disturb my sleep.
Strange i know but it gets a lot weirder
So i get out from my bed around 11 am and you guessed it the door would not open. I removed my fleecy top though it did take considerable effort and the door knob would turn but not open the door. I had broken the lock in my infinite stupidity
Stuck inside on the 2nd floor i called out to a 30 year old couple in the next block of units 20 metres away.
I gave them both instructions of how to get inside my car without a key and told them there is a spare set of house keys in the boot under the rug on their left hand side hoping they would be able to open my bedroom door from the outside.
Anyway they succeeded in getting in to the car and eventually found the spare keys to my unit.
Unfortunately my door locks were changed in the last few years and the key did mot work so i was stuck inside for around three hours till the maintenance person arrived
The latch he said was broken and it took him 5 minutes to open the door and another 10 minutes to fit another one.
Fast forward four hours and i decided to go to the shop but could not find my wallet in my house but then i remembered i had put it in a safe place in the boot after i went sailing yesterday as i did not want to leave it in the car as there was 150 dollars in it.
As i was walking to the car tonight to go to the shop i suddenly remembered the couple had been in there though my wallet was under the carpet to the other side of the boot to the instructions i had given them.
It hit me right then it might not be there anymore
It was, but the three 50 dollar notes had been removed
though my two bank cards were still there.
As a sidenote another neighbour had called the police after seeing them attempt to get in my car and they arrived minutes later.
I heard them from my window explain what had happened and they left though i am now thinking one of my neighbours may have noticed them going thru my wallet.
There is a HD camera directly opposite the back of my my car situated maybe 5 metres away across the driveway though with their back to the cameras it might not pick up much evidence.
The couple are a very friendly sort and you would never pick them as thieves if that is what it is.
And yes i lied to the maintenance person saying i had no idea as to why the door would not open.. Probably another 300 or 400 dollars i would have been short of
Just going to put it down to a very bizarre set of circumstances.
