I'm a fanatical supper on the back of a long surfing passion....I have a question for seabreezes?
Are Sup numbers , especially in the surf, on the fast decline?
It doesn't bother me - simply curious following a recent trip up the coast and into Qld....a lot of the locations that appeared Sup popular in past years were deserted? -- Example....Currumbin Alley

SUPs are great in long period swell, but get lots of chop then they are not as much fun.

I said it here some years ago:

SUP was great for about 5 mins, until it got popular. It was good for having fun in crap waves and tiny runners, but jostling with 15 other suppers for said chaff just seemed daft. I sold mine a couple of years back.

A couple of years back I succumbed to the ravages of age and purchased a SUP.
Calm water paddling was as boring as bat guano and I referred to my board as being the equivalent of an aquatic walking frame.
Messing around in the shore break was slightly more enjoyable and fun for a while but quickly became 'meh'.
Made some attempts to get out back and tackle some slightly bigger stuff but found the bloody paddle a bit of an embuggerance getting in the way all the time and it was a long swim in to recover the bloody thing.
But my best experience with my SUP was helping lift it onto the roof of the car of the bloke who bought it off me, (even the grandkids didn't want it for free), no tears were shed as it disappeared down the road.
Ended up buying a 'long board' and although it doesn't get a lot of use I am much more at one with it than I ever was with the SUP.

I had the most fun on my 12' x 33" aircraft carrier (the big easy). TBH, I sort of regret ever selling that board.
But sell it I did, joining the arms race to a shorter board (turned out, 9'6" x 31.5" was my balance limit). Had some good surfs down at Indijup Pt on the shorter board (except the day I saw a white and grey minivan drive right under my board...).
Interestingly, the whole process improved my wavesailing heaps (I became moderately competent for a while).
