Noticing how hard it's been to find a good time to do some outside painting and deck oiling due to the rain, I'm wondering how much has this has impacted on some trades being able to get any work done over the last year or so?

It has had no impact, Einstein.

Certainly we should drill into the issue some more.

My building expectation of a constructive answer has been plastered after inspecting this thread, leaving me feeling a little glazed and drained.

Hard to believe, but this is actually worse than what I have to endure whenever my father-in-law visits.

Woo hoo... this westerly wind all weekend in Sydney has finally provided perfect deck oiling weather - not even any overnight dew! First coat today, second coming tomorrow morning.

Nail holes? They're hex socket heads for 14g 50mm screws. Maybe time to visit your optometrist.

Blown out? I'm happy enough with the appearance after 13 years, especially considering it's fully exposed to the weather.

Whatever is going on in WA to create all these negative vibes? We're the ones that have just had to endure a year of non-stop rain!

Okay, I think I see where I've been going wrong. If I want to paint outdoor timber in continual heavy rain, I just need to use a hammer?! And all this time I thought a hammer was just for hitting on the end of a screwdriver to send circlips flying into the garden where I'll never find them again.

I figured it was probably just a hangover from the extended lockdown.

Is it over now? I wish someone had told me.

As for 'hangovers' I am still laughing at the alcohol restrictions that were implemented here. i think they were allowing enough in one purchase that would take me a year to drink. at least it would have been a merry lockdown.
