Its the mainstream filtered narrative some people have the problem with not medical science or law experts. Skepticism is a healthy part of demoracy. The alternative looks something like north korea in the end.
Nothing wrong with skepticism, but there's a lot wrong with what seems to be the current alternative, which is the people who watch a 15 minute YouTube rant and then claim that they know more than people who have spent 30 years studying and working in that field.
I wouldn't know what the "mainstream narrative" is, if you mean TV news or whatever. I do see that many people who have no credentials whatsoever in fields like medical science or law sit on forums, abusing people who have spent their lives studying such fields and those who respect their expertise.
I investigated stuff for years, and some of that stuff was later reported in the news. I know from first-hand experience that a bit of it was distorted, so the mainstream news is far from perfect. However, there's far worse stuff out there being swallowed by the gullible people who believe what they they see on fringe websites or YT.
There are plenty of experts in their field with "30 years" of experience who are not being heard or at best their opinions are being distorted to suite a narrative - even called "nut jobs".
your entire premise above assumes a level playing field. And it aint.
It is completely controlled by large organisations who are captured or do the capture. Always has been this way, powers to be have always controlled the narrative. but now it is amplified through global net information access and algorithms designed to solidify your inherent bias.
i would also assume their is a great deal of information war going on between countries as well. How do you know the person abusing an experienced expert in their field is not a russian employed bu their government to create such antagonistic discourse?
we have yet to grapple and evolve quick enough to keep up with the technologies us clever monkeys with thumbs have created.
You start off here with a claim that you provide zero evidence for, and then you complain that your case is not being heard.
No, not a single shred of what I wrote or think assumes a level playing field. There is ZERO evidence for your claim that I do. I don't think there's a level playing field; in fact I think it's tilted against the experts because of arrogant people who assume that they know more than people who have spent their lives studying and working in a field.
Yes, there may be a minority of experienced people who are not being heard. However, there are people in every field who are experienced, and wrong. You haven't provided any evidence that a very small percentage of experienced people are correct and the vast majority of experienced people are wrong.
Where is your actual evidence of these "large organisations" that have captured the narrative? Yes, some people have screamed about "big pharma" trying to cash in - but when it's pointed out that Covid is costing far larger sectors far more cash and that those sectors could expose any fraud, the CT people fail to reply. What "large organisations" are you talking about? What is their turnover? How does it compare to the turnover of the organisations who are losing money because of the alleged disinformation? Why do you assume that certain "large organisations" have managed to win the contest, without the others crying foul?
Ironically, the favourite medium of many "conspiracy" theorists is Youtube, which is owned by one of the largest organisations there is. So if "large organisations" are controlling the discussion why isn't one of the largest of them simply closing the YT accounts of the conspiracy theorists?
The people abusing the experienced experts on Seabreeze tend to be people who have been here for a fair while. They are familiar with windsurfing, kiting, local politics, local weather, gear, etc. I really don't think that Russian bots would bother doing that sort of deep cover work to try to influence a small forum.
I don't know about you, but I know people who are extremely knowledgeable about these technologies. They are extremely smart, in general. The ones I know have spent 15 to 35 years working in the field. That means that they have spent 36,000 to 70,000 plus hours learning this stuff - and they have risen above the mass of people who have done the same huge amount of work. These people also really get pissed off with other people who are so appallingly up themselves that they assume that they know more than those who have spent their lives in the field.
