Don't know if it has been posted in the past? But I think this is a cool thing.

Isn't this more about the fact that guys are getting disabled people into the surf?

Yes it is, it's brilliant. My daughter is in a wheelchair and i would love the opportunity to do that with her. If she wasn't who she is now, she'd be a mermaid...loves the water. I also like the wheelchairs that go across the sand especially the fat tyred one. I tell ya dragging a standard wheelchair through the beach sand is hard work. Play in the water until we're exhausted, then i have to try to get her back across the sand. I now have the idea, but i think i don't have the resources and materials or skills.

Very cool and there should be more of that kink of stuff available to those with special needs.

Hey Vince,

Check with your local sailing club or the like for chairs like the one seen in the clip. I know for a fact that the local sailing club near me has one of those "fat" tyre chairs for use on the sand. From what I have seen, it rarely leaves the storeroom.

Vince, in Perth there is a disabled surf association, they organise mornings like that shown in the video. They have a range of gear for getting the crew into and onto the water. try and locate them and find where they get the gear.. if it is expensive then crowd fund it from this site.

Jeez they were having a crack at some fairly decent sized waves considering some have never surfed before, and they are disabled!

I was starting to wonder what sort of people you were...

...reasonably decent to admit your oversight, it seems. If I lost the use of my legs I'd be on a goat boat the next day, screw the critics.

Also Vince, check with your local surf club or council. I know Cronulla has a few and you can just walk up and borrow them. But you can also book in advance through the council:
