Gisela between the Apostles

No, we're not talking about St Paul and his mates from the olden days, Gisela Pulido's been kitesurfing along the great ocean road this month. The goal - to kite between the twelve apostles. Why? That age-old answer - because they're there.

Gisela is the 7 time world kiteboarding champion from the kitesurfing oasis of Tarifa in Spain. She's only 17, but already she's got six freestyle championships, and one wave title under her belt. This year she's on track to win her eighth world title, currently leading the PKRA world tour as they head to Fuerteventura.

She's currently in town on a promo trip for her sponsors - Airush, so while she was here - why not tackle one of the worlds harshest places to kitesurf? The conditions around the twelve apostles aren't exactly ideal. Choppy seas, gusty winds and freezing cold water all make kitesurfing extremely dangerous and challenging, but if a seven time freestyle champion can't make it with a support boat and film crew in tow - who else would?

Across the road from the store is Pelican park and Bells beach, which are the perfect locations for flying kites and practising all kinds of watersports...
