I surfed up till 10 years ago when arthritis forced me to give up surfing. I live on 90 Mile Beach, New Zealand. In front of my house is the Wairoa river. It is very small and slow flowing only 20 meters wide.. I can paddle up-stream about 2 kilometers on very flat water.
