This cool little vid was posted on the Stand-up Section, and it reminded me of Pacific Vibrations. The artwork clip is a little ripoff from John Severson and Rick Griffin, but it is still cool....

The old surf vid "Pacific Vibrations" is gold, with some great artwork from Rick Griffin. Plenty of footage of him in that vid.... New School Old School Surf DVD's have copied that "Artwork in Fast Forward" action, which John Severson brought to us in the very early 70's.

John says Rick did an awesome poster for Pacific Vibrations, got wired on a "potion" and decided it wasn't good enough, and painted it white !

It is hard to get a copy of this video, as there was disputes about royalties to some of the musical artists, and because of this, I understand it can't be put up for sale !? I might be wrong.

However, I have a copy on Video from Free to Air TV. I saw a movie title in the TV Guide called "Pacific Vibrations", and I took a long punt and set up the old VCR to timer record. Low and behold, I recorded one of the best surf videos ever created.

PS - I was only born early 70's...
PSS - I would say a Griffin Spray would set you back about two grand, if he was alive.
