A powerful hack...

Have a close look...

The positive;
Here's a very powerful hack by Pancho Sullivan in Mexico, in 2006. I was one of several lucky ones to see the final day of surfing at the 2005 Vans Triple Crown Hali'ewa Event (from the beach), and watch a brilliant display from Pancho. Jarrad Howse surfed really well on the day, and some of Mick Fanning's power carves and air drop floaters were totally unbelievable in the final... Mick broke a board, and that probably cost him the win to be honest... But you couldn't deny Pancho either. My vote goes with some good old school power carves every day... Pancho. The swell built most of the day, and it was triple over-head on the best sets for a chunk of the day.

The negative;
With some trepidation I suggest that this photo sums up why SUP surfing will always be a poor cousin to "short-board" surfing... You just can't do it this tight, or throw water like this...
Positive - Kyron goes hard though!
Another positive - awesome photo hey!!?

Should every longboarder have a log?
Just been thinking, with the new board being an all rounder is there a need/want to have a log style board?

I've got the 10' redline but can't help thinking I'd like a more traditional style log for those smaller glassy days.

So who's got one & what do you think of them?

middle names
have you got a dud? I have, Harold, or I should say I did have a dud.

It was my dads first name and on the odd occasion at school and when I was younger I sometimes was a bit funny about people knowing it.

I was always reminded of the whining way in which the dirty old dad from Steptoe & Son would call out to his son, "aaarollld".

Not anymore of course, anything that honors the memory of my dad is okay by me, beside that, I didn't much like my other 2 names anyway.

So what what bought on this touch of sentimentality and WTF does it have to do with surfing.

Well for no reason whatsoever, I just happened to be passing the time away on Utube watching various surf Vids and I saw that Nat Young's real name is Robert Harold Young.

I've know of the guy for over 45 years and I've never bothered to find out his real name.

My problem now it that for a good portion of those 45 years I have not really been much of a fan, now suddenly I like him if only because we share this funny old fashioned middle name.

He really sticks it up Quiksilver at the end of this vid.

Vicco titles????
I've had a look at the forecast for saturday, I reckon it's looking pretty average.
Anyone from down Torquay way got any feelings on how they reckon conditions are looking?
If ther isn't much of a wave at cosy corner/pt danger is there a back up spot or is it more likely to be postponed??
