Early 90s speed trials event at Sandy. About 20-25 knots of wind. We got a 250m average of just over 35 knots on this run and I remember we were pretty chuffed at the time because that was faster than the majority of the single boards in that session. We were also within a poofteenth the B class Tandem 500m world record set at 35.06 knots by Griessemann/Bertin t Sotavento in 1986. Sails were 5m KA Race on the front and KA 5.5 Race on the rear. All our runs up until this time had been done in much more wind on much smaller sails so we were quite surprised we actually got it going.
