Got to try the 5m PP today. 12-16 knots, 90kg, 65L board, 810X foil. I'd say I'm at the upper level of intermediate?

- It really didn't feel like a 5m... the 5m PR feels enormous but the 5m PP felt entirely reasonable.
- Had to be more patient for the waterstarts than the PR, maybe I just need to get used to the different feeling. But it didn't feel like I lost too much.
- Upwind wasn't noticeably worse, but it did feel like I needed to edge a lot harder to keep it under control. It was pretty damn fun to be pulled that hard, but I can see it getting tiresome after a long upwind. I'm sure a GPS track will show that it's less effective, but I wasn't really thinking to myself "gosh the upwind sucks".
- It's hard to make a judgement on maneuverability at that size & wind range, but it definitely felt less "refined" in handling compared to the PR. That being said I had absolutely no issue jibing, playing around with handlepasses etc.
- Heelside tacks felt more difficult (except when tacking directly onto a wave-face), but weirdly the toeside tacks felt easier than on a PR?
- I was super super super impressed by how easy it was to depower everything to ride waves. I didn't do any fullpackdowns, but just pulling in all the lines and hanging onto the wing was really easy despite having a 5m wing. I would never consider doing that with my 5m PR... Redeploy was easy.

Early days, but so far impressed.

Hi all, for anyone who has had experience parawinging with the Amos Cypher board in 5'10" to 6'4" range, pls share thoughts.
thanks

Hit up Foil Rat on instagram. That's what he WAS using until he bought some Frank boards.

Next time it happens honestly just hold it by the mast like you would a big sledge hammer, with the titanium end of the fuse as the "head" of the hammer. Find a hard piece of pavement and just belt the **** out of the pavement. Don't be shy. I've split the concrete before - no damage the fuse or mast.

yep that's how i do it .

bloody hell, just put a block of wood on the concrete and hit that you madmen.

Not as fun though.

The new Armstrong Bump Caps, & the new Vaikobi ones are both great if you want alternatives.
