Two things:

-North Sails has hired Alex Udin to work with Bijl on sail design, who's (was...?) the owner/designer of Phantom. You can clearly see that influence in this proto, which is almost a carbon copy of last year's Phantom foil sail but with different colors (and obviously logo). Langer in his interview earlier already hinted at more affordability and less niche...

-Amado was testing with Pierre in the south of France (Port Camargue) and they switched fin and foil gear; the speeds recorded in the app appear to be on fin, not foil.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering why it looked like Phantom sails

Whats the safest strap for speedsailing with a Garmin?
I would be pissed to lose an expensive watch in the drink!

Iachino has joined Neil Pryde...
I wonder will he go to Luderitz to go head to head with AA

Some sailors are starting to join new brands for the upcoming season.
Pierre Mortefon is joining North Sails, it will be interesting if their moulded race sails are as fast as they look. Hopefully he does a few speed comps too.

The original interview let slip that Amado Vrieswijk has also joined North from Point 7, but it has since been edited.

Matteo Iachino has left Severne sails and will soon announce his new sponsor, many suspect it will be Point 7.

Apparently Iachino was a consumer rider of Patrik foils last season, it will be interesting what foils Mortefon uses as he is no longer with Phantom.

9 ft is definitely the sweet spot does it all. If you are over 40, that's old you might have to size up.

10ft boards are massive for light weights and smaller frames.

interesting that a long term sail designer, suddenly becomes a board designer.

board design is not rocket science, more like an art, but still, doesn't sound confidence inspiring sadly.

Maybe read up about someone before you put your foot in your mouth.

Bit touchy there mate. Do you want to talk about it?

It is interesting that they've been so quiet about a big change like that. Seb Wenzel has been designing excellent boards for decades

Looks great. Thanks for the feedback and the video Rick. It sounds like an evolution... Not a revolution

Seen a vid and a couple.of pics of this new board. It looks like a nice shape.
How does it compare to the revolution, looks the the nose is pulled in a bit, is there much difference in the rocker?
Anyone tried it?
