Just got back.
Bought gear along to do tow foil. Seen it in Sanur in July and looked great.
January, wet season was a different story.
Bali Sanur, swell was too small.
Lombok kuta, the rain washed all the crap out into the bay and was too much stuff floating around to foil and drive the boat.
Water sports there during rainy season seem hit and miss as there is alot of rubbish floating around and water visibility is low.
Also don't do Lombok if you can't ride a scooter, it's very spread out. Surf break is 15min ride from the town of Kuta.

Just a heads up. Was in Bali last week got into trouble after I hired a surf SUP and went out at crowded small Serangan Break (around the corner from Sanur). Apparently as I was later today by the owner they have banned surf SUPs out there and aren't allowed to drop anyone there anymore.
I'm guessing because everyone is trying.to make money off teaching surfing?
Everywhere else nearby, surf was flat. I would.be really pxssed if I'd brought over my board for this.
As it turned out I bought tow foil gear and there was not enough swell for that either. Wet seasons also sucks as there is alot of junk in the water.
