The crew from Virginia Beach have arrived, I think they are not aware of Seabreeze so thought I would share.

Mr Keen defeating my drone skills

Nice video what drone did you film that with asking because only certain drones are now available in the US for security reasons?

Its a DJI mini 4K, which i wouldnt recommend for windsurfing. Get one that flys at least 20m/s. My understanding is that the drone ban in the US is only for non-currently owned drones.

Or you could build one from parts like my son did.
He's not having any trouble in 43 knot wind gusts.
I think it's a 5" drone.

I am very interested in building a 5 in drone. Was it very challenging for him?

No, but he is pretty techy. But pretty sure he just buys the pieces and assembles them. Seems a lot of it is getting it tuned correctly with software flight controller/telemetry etc. I suspect it's all pretty straightforward. I'll ping him for kit details and see if he has some recommendations.

Thank you

My son gave me this link. He built his own, but said this one pretty identical ready to go off the shelf.. he did say there is more skill in flying a "true " fpv drone, whatever that means..

I don't have the opportunity to do more than 50-60 sessions a year,

I think that 99% of riders would just dream to have over 20 sessions a year. I think I am just over that number thanks to winDfoiling. My fin yearly session count was probably below 12 before foiling.
Now I fin windsurf about 10 times a year, but my technique massively improved by foiling, so I enjoy it even more. winGing is just for when I don't have access to other gear.

Ya, I'm very fortunate to get well over 100 in a year with winds >18 knots. In a good month I'll have to take a break even if the wind is blowing. It would help if I shortened my sessions to < 30 miles, but it's too much fun to quit if theres still daylight

Started in 75'. At 63 yo, I'm not going back to fin. Foiling doesn't require near the strength and is easier on the joints. Plus I can go upwind like crazy and "travel". I only go out in 18-35 knots and screaming around on tiny sails is just sooo much fun.
