Yes! As you say, the 1099 is more enjoyable. I swapped 1050 for 1099v2 and no regrets. The 1050 has slightly better bottom end, but in my opinion the difference is so small it's not worth holding on to for. In contrast to the bottom end, the top end of the 1099 is a lot better

This is a windfoiling forum so you're going to attract a few wing haters. It'd be interesting to ask the same question in the wingfoiling forum, I expect you'll get a very different response. I dumped windfoiling for winging with zero regrets personally, but full respect to windfoiling, it's also awesome!

I converted the non "wing" version of this vest. Hand sewed on some belt keepers and put a plastic support plate on the back which is held in place with Velcro. Bonus of the DIY version is that the hook will slide.

Currently winging 939 as daily driver with Advanced Ultrashort fuse and 55 skinny tail. 1099v2 is my session saver and I have a 851AP for blasting, but peak speeds are only about 1/2kt better than 939. I also have a skinny 50 tail, but I don't tend to use it anymore. Thinking about getting an Advanced Short fuse to run with the 939 & 851, then reserve the Ultrashort for the 1099v2. So question is: should I run the skinny50 with the 1099/Ultrashort to help it turn, or the 939-851/Short due to the longer lever? I value stability, speed and glide over tight turning. I was also thinking about a 400 Flat Speed, but maybe that's a backward step?

I've gone from windsurfing to windfoil to wing. Ditched windfoiling entirely, but refuse to stop windsurfing. I'm more picky with windsurfing now, only tend to go out on good 25kt+ speed sailing days. Wing to Windsurf ratio is about 10:1, which reflects that I now get heaps more TOW overall. I was faster on the windfoil, but seem to be maxing out in the 24's on the wing. Just can't seem to crack 25kts no matter what gear I'm on. I try not to chase speed too much now, because winging is to me all about fun carving. With just your 2 feet on the board, gybing, tacking and pitch control is so much easier - for me. I also like how winging is a mixing pot of people from all sorts of disciplines. The surfers seem to do well once they have their basic wing handling skills sorted. I never learned to sail toeside windsurfing, but now feel comfortable riding toeside in goofy stance winging. Didn't even know I was a goofy footer prior to winging, but natural foot is definitely my weaker stance gybing, tacking and riding toeside.
jumping? Tried it a couple of times. Hopeless - fail! I ride with front straps only now. Old men can't jump?

Not a helmet but good quality just expensive.

I like the sun protection

Mine (photos above) was about 50% cheaper and is very comfortable. The only issue with mine is the protection doesnt go fully around the back of your head. Is the Vaikobi similar?

Expensive, but I do like the look of these softshell bucket hats: https//bangproof.com
Overpriced?
Has anyone come across these in Australia, or a similar product (soft shell plus full brim)?
