Team,
any recommendations of beaches around forster to kite in this upcoming southerly? black head , booti, tuncurry??
is anyone kiting!?

Hey mate...I'm gonna try drift launching on Lake Wallis next time I'm up that way. At the Great Lakes Sailing Club, you can rig up on the grass and walk it out on the sandbar apparently. I've been sailing there for a while, but I've never bothered trying to kite it, but there's a local guy (I think) who drift launches there and seems to go ok. There's also a couple wing-foilers who look like they have some success there as well.

I have kited there, the club is great for a setup, drift launch or take a friend as it can be shallow for a long way out .

What direction was the wind? NE is the prevailing summer breeze, but it comes over the high trees right next to the shore, so I imagine it's a bit **** until you get quite a long way from the beach? I've sailed there in SE, which seems to come pretty much straight up the lake, which I suspect would be smoother, but from what I've seen the SE winds aren't frequent.

South pretty much a cross shore wind . yes the summer NE is the wrong direction.

Anyone else see a kite sailing across Safety Bay rd through traffic yesterday, looked like it came from a release on the water.Clown show.

Duotone evo dlab 11m dropped off to me for repair this morning having gone across the road yesterday. Guessing that's the one ??

There were at least 2 full release moments yesterday, hopefully not the same guy, I saved a Duotone kite before it made it to shore after 2 guys tangled, the more experienced rider was forced into full eject as the new guy didn't pull his safety to kill the power. I did see the guy up and riding again after a reset on the beach so no damage was done in that incident.
