In the short term - close all the hose clamps after inflation...

Great video!! Should be required viewing by all kitesurfers. The camera work, kite skills and even the comments are worth your time.
By the way, seat harness for me after 2x broken ribs and a history of lower back issues.

Agreed - The technology is here and could be useful as an extra Marketing tool..
It will be like the long leash, it just came with the harness so it stayed there - short leashes are slowly taking over because of safety issues..

Pros n cons as always but this may be helpful information for those who have various injuries / medical problems and still want to enjoy kiting Or just want to maximize your fun time on the water with minimum risk and energy expenditure...

Some years back I mentioned about children and that the forces and posture will eventually take its toll on their 'developing' spinal curvature... so would be good for parents to learn and show them some basic stretches / exercises to counter this.
They have a lot of years ahead of them - give them a good start...

Lastly - the Wedgy problem that pisses off 'everyone' and makes people sometimes shy away - can be moded to solve the problem.
The manufacturers need to do this as a standard...
The Fix - a firm triangular pad about 4-6 inches in length, needs to be sewn into where the lower leg straps meet at the bottom..
It instantly stops the wedgy and makes it more comfortable.
When you go to a park - and sit on a rubber belt swing, your butt is supported and your legs hang over - NO WEDGY !
I'll [post a pic of mine when I'm home next week..

Dutchies beach about 25 knots at Cottesloe... missed out on the video, I had camera slightly on the wrong angle, oh well next time..
Also I tried tether launching in about 25-30 knots at another beach - full depower trim pulled in, and found that walking it 'back' in the window a bit. Stops it from surging and just sits still...

Kite Weight -
2.5 kg
My weight
- 78kg
Board - 135 x 40 Twin Tip
Bar size - 50cm with 23m lines
Experience on Edges- ridden the V12 9m for the last year, which goes very well - so will be comparing the two..
Build quality - Went over every stitch and line, usual high Ozone standard. This is not a Noob 'I want to be king of crashes' big air kite. Its for the experienced rider who can keep it in the air..

Lets start with the kite laying on the ground 'On Top' of the V12 9m... The V13 looks to be a few inches narrower front to back at the trailing edge with a slight batwing shape and shorter more rounded at the wingtips.
This is a Completely New kite as stated in their Promo Video.
Keep this little statement off their website in mind..."Incredibly light, stiff, stable and responsive, we made this for the die-hard Edge lovers who live to go massive, easily"

Their are Pros & Cons and I'll start with the Pros.

The Medium wind test (the 2nd ride)

25-30+ knots flatwater more like 30 at peak..
On the beach there's a bit of lift, turns side to side faster. Get riding on water and a gust hits the kite, shooting it forward like a bullet - I start smiling, because I know what that means!!
Pedal to the metal Fully powered sent it hard and BOOM ! Ohhhh now I know what the hell they've done - they've hidden nitrous oxide, a turbo and afterburners in the kite..
Second jump boom, going very vertical and now with a second elevator lift - throw the big loop because its the fun thing to do up there & heli loop down with a lot more hangtime and float.

My grin is now ear to ear, this kite makes my V12 9m (which is a very good performing kite) feel like my Grans electric shopping cart and I've stolen a Formula One car !!!
Jessie Richmond wasn't joking when he said it has been Completely redesigned- Its a new kite !
The kite likes to go vertical very quickly without much effort and makes you wonder WTF just happened & how do I get down.. Good to note that you can pivot loop this kite too & are not committed to one style of a wide loop. Depending on how you trim the bar.

I've owned a few different brand kites & foils but this Performs like the Designer was told - Don't worry about what 'Everyone wants" just build the ROCKET that big jumpers want!
Their statement
"We made this for the die-hard Edge lovers who live to go massive, easily"
Is one hell of an understatement and confirms this !I think its rather unfair to state that - as it would suit most regular kiters 'who know how to jump' & just want to go big. No crazy KOA tricks - just BIG !

THE Strong Wind test - waiting for next big weather pattern to form and will make little video with my Insta 360..

The Low Wind test (1st ride)
Cons..
16-22knots but more like 18..
The kite feels like it has little power in the low range - in comparison to my V12 which has a great bottom end and will go when most 12m kites go..
BUT when you sit back and ask yourself.. who the hell buys a 9m Aluula kite for Big Air performance - at a ridiculous 18 knots WTF haha, what was I thinking duh !
Wait for a better Day...

Stability

Standing on beach, with its 16 point bridal - its very stable and fly's behind you and just stops their with no sign of a HindenburgWhile.
Great for cranking upwind and very obvious from its drive through loops, heli loops.
while riding, it likes to park where ever you put it, a little bar movement and it just stays there, not tearing off on a secret mission...
It does take a little effort to initiate a fast turn, but follows quickly once on the move.

If charging at a wave to do the big TT slash off the top - you can throw it straight into a down loop just before the turn.. and it pivots and accelerates away with no pause during the turn, leaving a fun sized Rooster tail behind. It feels very easy and smooth to do this unlike the V12 that sat back in the window further.

Bar Pressure Is light, but not too light that you don't know where the kite is.. also was out for about 3.5 hours without an elbow tingle.

Speed in a 'Lawn Mowing' straight line

I did a few tests and it just keeps accelerating, it reminded me of my foil kite & board where it just wants to go like a bat out of hell, and will be interesting to hear what the foil guys think even though its a 5 strut kite.

So I'm absolutely stoked to have this as my medium to top end kite and feel its the best money I've ever spent on a kite.
I was worried about the price - then a good friend told me you only live once - Rock it now... before you rock an armchair bro ! Top Bloke

A special thanks to the team at ActionSports Kite Perth for letting me know you can actually choose the Ozone custom colours of your choice for Free, on the kite and getting it for me quickly, in time for our Summer "Seabreeze"
