Here is inserts I put in properly. Factory pad. why would you hack a hole in the pad on your new board and stick on something..?

= resale value.

Until they lift your laminate
no no no
they're designed for durable kite boards not one layer of carbon over delicate EPS
At least the KT is a proper sandwich construction but still ..
if you're cutting the pad to fit them anyway why not put proper inserts in

as I said in the last thread about this, I fix this stuff all the time. if you're in WA bring it in

But the Ezzy ferrule is opposite to most

probably to avoid people trying what you're suggesting as it's not a great idea. They came up with mix n match but know other brands won't work.

Get it done properly - I fix this stuff all the time
(1) sometimes heat affects the glue. Carbon gets really really hot.
(2) it doesn't take much to tear laminate up away from the foam. Even just a little. Your board has about a third or less laminate on the deck than a kiteboard. Then flex and board expansion/contraction makes the delam spread.
put chinook inserts in

No that is good! SV does the same. Jam it in and tape the join with the 2" wide cloth tape. never ever have a stuck mast due to the great seal.
I love it

But Yeah a trap for noobs if it springs apart before downhauling it's a recipe for breakage

No its has not necessarily. The OP is correct it has only chipped the clear coat. Putting white filler on it would look awful and devalue it greatly.. He's also used soapy water so if it isn't pushing out air it def isn't letting water in.
As I said, if it really needs sealing just solar resin would do. But he is sure it does not need sealing up.

^^ agreed

As a pro board repairer both of those surfaces are the top 2 most challenging to get right.

Sunova? Firstly if it is, the rail is see thru black over biax carbon so repair to look good is very techy. same on deck with wood. Thus any DIY is probably going to look crap - no insult intended. If it's not taking on water I'd leave it.

is the bubble very thin though? Just paint bubble? If so I'd consider cutting it off with scalpel, solar resin then a sticker over it do it won't spread. That's the most I would do if I were you. I mean as a cheapie if you must fix something.

I know it reduces I think you misunderstood me. Runs out the tail ie: through the tail and keeps going, to a zero point that is off the board. So I meant does the concave go all the way to tail. Still concave at the very end. As you said it ends 50mm behind tail. So there is some concave at the very back. yes?
Not many folks do this, but one board I know of with it is amazing, so I am keen to hear your rationale (as opposed to normal flat vee at tail)

That pic on your profile is junk sorry to say. the board will frustrate u so badly and its not a beginner sail at all.
put a small sail on your SUP if u can, google how to make a temporary centreboard for it
that with a 15yo wave sailing rig would get u going for free AND crap all over the verge stuff

Proper paint helps too. ie: not Bunnings or the Wattyl shop.

I don't know Mark, I've had very good results with 2 pack estapol, very thin, should soak into the wood OK

Yes that's what I meant. Proper stuff. Any 2K is going to be miles ahead. Anything way more poisonous does it right

Yup frustrating Starboard problem. That top one is easily done with some resin. The bottom can be sealed up but with constant wetness its going to spread unless you do the whole bottom really - good sand back to almost all paint gone, resin over and then repaint. Not that easy there is 5 sanding steps with a bit of fill..... and while you're there you might as well fix that negative rocker that I bet it will have.

Proper paint helps too. ie: not Bunnings or the Wattyl shop.

This road is dead flat, dead straight and about 20km. About 1.5-2m above the salt lake

I saw the salt lake flood once about 20yrs ago. The water level was just below the blacktop for a couple of days.

Would be two very unusual weather patterns but one day it will flood and then a 30kn wind........ I'll be there even on wave gear!!!

That pic is the most water I've ever seen in it, apart from that flood. In reality its inches deep at best in this pic.

I'm in two minds about it. I saw a guy all responsible on an e-scooter doing about 60kph in the bike lane on a major road. In peak hour, he beat us by a long way on, say 10km, journey to work. No harm done. That should be encouraged. All the oldies whining that they go so fast with no warning oooh my heart almost stopped = same as their complaints about cyclists doing 50kph on a dual use path..... that they've been whining about for 30 years. Walk on the left and don't just step sideways for no reason ya dopes.

But teens on the electric MX bikes that cost $6K plus (how??!!! privileged little w^nkers ) are a bunch of muppets that need to be cracked down on.

OTOH I had to laugh at the ones on the golf course the other day, some kids were on those old folks lookin things like in the pic above. Yeah you're so hardcore mate
