Usually the first thing apprentice mechanics are warned about when they change their first filter,,
either fuel or oil.

Bringing the draft or camber in the sail forward usually helps the helm along with adding more twist especially in rough conditions when the boat is being tossed around,,, it ensures that some part of the sail has the correct angle of attack at any given time.
Draft aft gives a finer angle of attack to apparent wind , points higher but harder to steer .

One critical factor on how well an antifouling works is how much activity it gets. I find that most of the popular self polishing ablative brands work quite well if the boat is active. I don't believe that static submerged painted boards prove anything other than how toxic the paint is. Adding other components to an already proven paint may alter its life span and how it was designed to work.
