After a bad experience with failing seams of my wing, I'm searching for a better construction. Does anyone have experience with the new model of Vayu (Aura V4)? I'm curious how it performs during maneuvers like tacks and jibes compared to what you've used before and also low wind performance.
I Owned Ozone Flux V1, Vayu Aura3 in 5+4+3 and now the Aura4 in 5+4m (kept the 3m V3) and demoed plenty of wings.
For me the Aura4 is one of the best handeling wings I tried and a dream in the surf.
Good low end when pumping really good without feeling heavy/grunty.I,m too close to a 100kg and it stays fairly stable in a wide windrange, but Dlabs are stiffer/ keep better there shape in wind where you should go 1 or 2m smaller.
Build quality
Build quality is really good. After a year with aprox 200 sessions the V3 is still fine. The shape probably bagged out a bit, but I don,t rerally nottice any performance issues and could easily ride them for another year. Its just that I had some issues and what works better for that then buying new gear! Bag and leash: I don,t have problems with that, used the 3m in over 40knots.
Compared to other wings
The Ozone feels and is bigger when I lay one over the other, more like a 5.3 so the Flux has better low end but also feels more racy. Better upwind angles at the cost of surf/light feel.
North and Naish feel both more grunty then both Vayu and Flux V1 but also more like a 5.7 instead of a 5.Armstrong: The XPS V1 was a really good wing and then with the V2 they made this heavy pig..I don,t get it).
