Ive only recently moved from the axis Hps 1050 to Art v2 999. Which i finding slightly more challenging but more enjoyable. When the winds a bit lighter ive been going back to the Hps 1050. for a bit more user friendly. Ive noticed a few good 2nd hand Art V2 1099. at reasonable prices. Should I give up on using the hps 1050 in lighter winds and buy a Art v2 1099.
How does the hps 1050 vs Art v2 1099 compare for bottom end light wind ease of use.
Thanks for any input.

I have used the art v2 1099 quite a bit now. It's a great wing, nice and glidy great in the bumps. The low end is not as good as you'd expect from a wing this size. There would be a big difference in low end between the hps 1050 and the art v2 1099. With that said the v2 1099 is more efficient and glidy so it will probably keep you up and flying longer. For winging I found the artv2 1099 to have plenty of low end I could be happy with it as my biggest wing. For parawing where you can't generate as much power to get going I have found the v2 1099 to be a bit trickier to get going in light winds.

Yes! As you say, the 1099 is more enjoyable. I swapped 1050 for 1099v2 and no regrets. The 1050 has slightly better bottom end, but in my opinion the difference is so small it's not worth holding on to for. In contrast to the bottom end, the top end of the 1099 is a lot better

I own both the artv2 999 and 1099 now. Makes for a good quiver. Would only like another smaller foil. i think it pays out to be on the same shape of foils because getting to know it means only then you can reach its potential. so boring combo but it works! The art v2's are quite underrated in my opinion!

Recently bought and then sold a V2 1099 due to the disappointing low end - thought due to its size it would fill a gap in my quiver between a 960 Spitfire and 1180Spitfire.
Similar lift to a 960 Spitfire which is lifty but not a light wind foil.
Prev had the HPS 1050 which def has better bottom end than the V21099.

The V2 1099 glides well, goes upwind well and is great once up on foil.

Something to be aware of that the tips on the V21099 are really sharp and with the wide 1.1m span I've had many close calls.
1010 Surge will be replacing the V21099 for me.
