By now most you would have heard the Windsurfer LT Worlds are in planning for Perth end of next year. The Worlds this year were recently held in Italy with 170 competitors. The LT is in high demand world wide with North America just starting to get it now.

Get on board the LT this summer and come race at Mounts Bay Sailing Club. Age is no barrier with the fleet sailers currently spanning from about 45-70 years old and from 60-100kg. I'm at the top end and would welcome more around my weight haha.

Racing is on at Mounts Bay Sailing Club this Sunday, briefing is at 1pm, race starts at 2pm
All windsurfer sailors very welcome to join in

Last week's MBSC opening day race was sailed on a beautiful day in steady 12-15 knots of breeze on a relatively uncrowded bay

The race was taken out by Scott Mckercher by a mere 7 seconds. Scotty out pumped and wore down Denis Jones who started very well and had a big lead the second mark.

Ian Barcham followed with a credible third after a long winter hibernation.

A fast improving Kelvin was next a few board lengths behind. Simon and Michael were next followed by Nick, newcomer Clive with Richard bringing up the rear

Looking forward to my first race of the season this week, hopefully I will catch up with you all on Sunday

Sunday saw another perfect sailing day on the Swan for the first MBSC Club Heat for season 2019/20.

Unseasonal westerly winds delayed the start and caused the race committee to reposition the start line to the vicinity of Como Jetty

11 Windsurfer LT sailors fronted up including 4 first timers starting in a 10-14 gusty knot westerly breeze.

Reigning world champ Tim Gourlay showed the fleet a clean pair of heals and romped away to a convincing and comprehensive win.

Newcomer Peter Monkhouse showed good form and technique to finish second followed by Kelvin Usher and a few seconds further back to yours truly

Another first timer Julian Atkinson was next followed by immediate past Commodore of MBSC Peter Schneider

Next came Clive Swanson then first timer Alastair Mackinnon followed by Richard and another first timer Grant Hymus.

Richard reckons he would have probably finished higher up had he not been tee-boned by a foiling moth.

Another highlight of the day was Snides and Darryl G buzzing the LT fleet while training for the Wind Foiling Aussie Titles

LT Racing is on again at MBSC next Sunday 20 October, briefing at 1pm, racing starts at 2pm.

Hope to see you all there.

All LT Windsurfer sailors welcome for racing and a beer after at the presentation in the upstairs bar
