I have two questions first is I have damaged the end of mast, can I just cut it and continue using it? It's a Matrix 65 400 stiffness 19. Can I just use a hack saw on it?

The second I lost part of a batten holder off a Combat 4.2 (it's old) but still in good nick, hopefully someone has one so I can see what the other half looks like.

Three washers should do it.
From memory it was just a chaff strip.

Steve Stratfold can probably repair the mast.

The mast is buggered, I will give you $50 for it.

Seriously - it depends on the depth of that damage. If it is one fibre layer that is compromised - bit like peeling just some bark off a tree, then it is fine. A bit of resin would not hurt, but it is not terminal.
But if a crack runs thru to the inside then it is buggered. Then again, cutting off 3cm of a mast will not hurt it any.
If cutting, tape it up first to stop splintering, sand it nicely afterwards and maybe smear some resin on the end (cut part) afterwards to discourage any splintering

I repaired two masts like that. Because of the location it t should be a good repair.I wrapped carbon around, around it, I will see if can find the link with detailed instructions.

Thanks for that, I ended up cutting 30mm off the bottom.

Now for the sail, if anyone can post a photo just so I can see what it looks like

Cheers

Yeah that's right, if I can get the second bit then it's just a few rivets otherwise it's putting something different there instead
