drove down for a look today - no more weed, no smell, no algae - even had a white sandy beach at launch area! back in business
Hi guys, I have never sailed on Connewarre before and hoping to try it sometime. Which road in do you usually take? Or do you use a different road entry depending upon the wind direction?
The lake really only works when the winds got some south in it. We sail from Brinsmeads lane (off bellarine Hwy). Good grass rigging area. Shallow for a while with a walk out to about 30-40 m. then runs up to 2 kms long. The bottom is silty so I'd recommend booties and has some patches of weed (under water) that keeps the water flat. Weed fin recommended but not necceasary (tide dependant). Good fun safe spot...
I rode my bike down to the ash road end and the sign was still up saying its shut, but it would be awsome if its still open, although im kinda between windsurfers at the moment since the last one broke, hopefully ill be able to convince my perants i need another one now ive got somewhere to use it...![]()
Thanks Red. Hopefully I'll get a chance to sail there sometime. What do you reckon of this Thursday's wind forecast? Looks a bit iffy to me.
