Hi,
I'm looking to get myself a decent windsurfing trailer that can possibly also be used to ferry around 4 small kids electric motorbikes (40kg) and or 6 bicycles. (and the usual Surfboards, SUP's, kitesurf gear etc)
It would need to be galvanized as it will spend time on the beach at Sandy Pt.
Any recommendations for custom trailer manufacturers in and around Melbourne?

I used Victorian Trailers in Thomaston? out near the Hume. 7f x 4 gal with a rack but was $$ but I got just what I wanted

If you are on a budget maybe an import. They do do that and others that are galvanised say $1400 and up.

I was thinking galvanized, 8 x 4, single axle box, around 700mm sides, partially enclosed draw-bar section (to gain length), with a set of bars on top, would love to be able to fit a 10' board inside. I want something that's going to last but hoping to get away with under $3k for something if possible. Guess I may have to spend more.
Any chance you could share a pic of your trailer?

Made this up a couple years ago, 8 x 4. 500 deep sides, longer draw bar. Side steps had the top off my old 6x4 already, trailer came from Dandenong but I can't remember there name and I'm at work so will post it tmro. Where great to deal with nothing was a problem with any changes you need.

They could not galvanise when I looked. My 7 foot does not fit a 400 mast straight. Next time I would go 8 foot. If you galvanise locally they will/must make a heavy duty trailer as when they galvanise it buckles the steel. It will have small imperfections but if you know that beforehand you are ok with it. I did 4 foot wide as easier to store at home. You can get 4foot6 then the same as your car.
Maybe a small tandem gal import. At 8x5 or 9x5 random. Tandems are grea5 as they do the bumps better than single

Here is an alternative concept for anyone who is interested.

The trailer is an 8x4 with extended drawbar that I built a few years ago.

i decided to build an enclosed box for extended travelling, but with a rack on top for the long stuff. I can fit 9' Mal inside but have to put the 10' Mal on the racks.

I also wanted to cary my trail bike so the front is a funny shape to clear the handlebars. Frame is welded square tube. Cladding is Colorbond sheet. Floor is plywood. I can quite easily slife the box out to use the tralier for other tasks, and haul it back in again with a small hand winch. It just bolts to trailer at each end. The tailgate just hangs on its chains when the box is in and I have to relocate the rego plate.

If I didn't want to carry the bike on the front, I would have put it forward over the front instead of out the back, or both so I would hold the 10 foot Mal.

Fits 4 boards easily with 6-8 sails and many masts, bases, fins, booms etc. Plus up to 8 Jerry cans of juice for crossing the Nallabor!

First big trip before I sorted the internal racks etc.
