I have done a little search but found nothing.
I have damaged the nose of my board with the mast and need it fixed, can someone lease point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Jeanine
Hi Jeanine, welcome back! I hope you got some good windsurfing on your holiday. I have had my board repaired very professionally, with the paint touched up neatly, at Zac's surfboard shop in Victoria Rd, Thornbury for very reasonable prices.
Cheers,
Peter
Take it to SHQ in Sandringham. They have a repairer that fixes boards like new - really professional and experienced at fixing windsurfers.
Im guessing you would pay a heap more going thru SHQ?
You would have the repair bill plus SHQ would naturally chuck a bit on top also.
Much better to go direct to repairer if you can find one?
I've just been on the phone to RPS about a fin box repair I need made. It appears that the person who does repairs for RPS has just closed down for business.
In the meantime, they have directed a couple of boards to Oakey in Braeside. I have used OKE once before and found them to do a good job - I was thinking of using them again. SHQ recommended them highly over the phone.
Interestingly my current need relates to a pre-existing repair to a second hand board that I bought. I believe this repair may have been done by the old RPS repairer. Whoever did that repair did a poor job, with a lot of leakage and now delamination around the fin box. By comparison OKE did a better repair to a fin box on an old fibreglass board of mine (though it also leaked a little).
Here are contact details for the repairers discussed so far in this thread...

Cheapest & best board repair in the whole of Victoria is Balin Surfboards on the Mornington Peninsular (Rosebud)
They make their own boards, so no price mark up's as its repaired by professionals in the shop and not an agent.
And the quality is unreal.........
I was quoted $225 for some fin box repairs, but at Balin they did the job for $120 and was ready in 2 days!......sweeeeeeet.
