Where is every one windsurfing this weekend?

Well there is not really a lot of wind forecast for this weekend. Maybe Sunday afternoon we may be surprised by a Seabreeze.

Myself: I will be at Parkdale Yacht Club Sunday at about 1pm to help introduce people to the Windsurfing One Design class before the Nationals over the Australia Day week. Hopefully afterwards if there is a Seabreeze, I'll try to head down to Elwood (Po'okipa) to get some slalom practice for the North One Hour that is on the following Saturday (22/01) at ESC.

Refer to the extract from BOM forecast below for Port Philip Bay.

Local Waters Forecast for Port Phillip
Issued at 5:47pm EDT on Friday 14 January 2011

Forecast for Saturday
Winds: West to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots becoming southwesterly up to 10 knots later in the evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres.

Forecast for Sunday
Winds: Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres.

Please note; this is not a WV event and this post is to be used as information only. The intent of this post is for windsurfers to post where they could be going to windsurf this weekend and for other windsurfers to possible come and join them.

Considering St Kilda atm - and will be keeping a close eye on the reports in the mornings.

Weather is very unpredictable at the moment... forecasts seem to be changing on the hour

Wow, Im starting to realise that we get a load more wind down here on the peninsula than you city folk.. makes living in geelong...well... livable

Sunday I will be waterstarting (learning too). that is contually clearing the sail and falling on my ass. I will mix it up a little though.

i plan to stack both ways, windward and down wind.

hey i might even perfect the move called "460mastinface"

It could quite possibly be the most boring session ever had.

Anywhere near the city is out for me.

All the s**t I saw going down the Yarra yesterday has to end up somewhere

Might head down with Old Salty to 45 on Sunday, depending on what the wind does.

Getting out of Melbourne for a week to Barwon Heads Caravan Park. Hope to get out at Barwon, 13th, Connaware and Point Henry over the course of the week, (as long as the winds come through!!!)
Family will be on tow eventually but have the first few days on my own so hopefully I will get out as much as I can between Sunday and Tuesday before the masses arrive.

You might be able to sail in the caravan park by the way the river is coming up..!

Took some learners to Connaware today, large stinking 10m weed/algae mat to walk through to get to the water.
Water OK beyond that.

Maybe with the river flooding and the strong SW wind predicted it might dump the crap up the bank, when the river goes down the lake beach might be clear.

So you dragged the entourage down to the lake then Gav?

last time i surfed the lake it was clear.
but this weekend after all the rain, even the river down by the campsite was sooo dirty I couldnt make out the sandbars from 10 inches away.

hit a sneaky one at full pelt and came to a very abrupt stop!!

I think I saw waggles out at ocean grove backbeach on Saturday?

BUT, how good was sunday arvo !!! awesome session had. Was too busy blasting to consider a waterstart practice session.
