Hi guys,
I'm thinking about a road trip somewhere around south west Victoria and was wondering about lake Connewarre. I haven't been there before but I hear it works best in a southerly and weeds can be a problem. Any extra info would be appreciated.
I was thinking about heading to Lake George but it sounds like the water levels are getting very low.
At last look the weed was becoming very thick but this can also be a blessing as you can get some amazing flat water behind the weed beds.
This time of year with more westerly type winds we tend to head to Point henry as you can get some lovely long runs , still need in a weed fin at the lower tides..
Cheers Red. I might head down at some point, I'll post here when I plan on heading over. I haven't got a weed fin so I might need to get in on high tide. Is it more bump and jump or slalom conditions.
Thanks
A few of the Invy crew did a road trip on Sunday to Point Henry and I spent the first two hours going from 20 kts to zip as weed grabbed the fin every hundred metres. I would not sail their without a weed fin even at high tide.![]()
For better bump and jump conditions and NO weed, head to Point Richards (near Portarlington). It is great fun in any winds from West to North to East. Had a great day there on Sunday past. Cheers.
