The third Windsurfing Victoria Course Racing Clinic is planned for this sunday morning (3/09), at Mordialloc Sailing Club.
The sun is forecast to be out, hopefully we get a bit more wind than we did at the first two! If you are interested in course racing, or just have a longboard and feel like getting it out and taking part, please come down and join us (No racing experience required).
The idea is to have some marks in the water for practise starts, and board handling exercises, with the emphasis on having fun and getting on the water.
This weekend WV will have 2x NP RS:One kits for this event. The RS:One is one of the new course racing kits that has been developed for the weekend racer.
Time:- 10:30 on the water for about an hour
If you can be there around 10:00, and be rigged and ready to go on water at 10:30
Cost:- $5 for the morning session
Everyone will be required to be a WV member (forms available sunday)
Moordialloc Sailing Club has a fully stocked canteen, bar, shower facilities, and a decent coffee machine!!
Email Matt if anyone has any queires or questions regarding sunday.

The forecast is looking pretty good at this stage, with some decent wind forecast, unlike the last few weeks

If anyone has wanted to try a longboard in a decent breeze, come down this sunday and have a go!
A big thanks to SHQ for supplying us with a new RS:ONE for people to try out.
Sounds good Steve. It's about all I can do at the moment.....
Does anyone know how to play the violin ![]()
It's all your fault you know Jman..... I was quite happy with what I had until you started putting idea's in my head!
Even if one rsone had a hole in it..
Envied the run to the horizon by your group of wind starved racers early morning.
At least I got my funboard fully decorated at my compulsory dad's day doings..
Myself who's used the Rs one for a few months now I think the hybrid type of kit is more fun. BUT in very light winds the classic long board will be quicker. When it hits about 8-10 knots the hybrid will plan up very quickly and feels like big free race board.
Fingers crossed in two weeks we will get a 10-15 knot day to show off the light wind planning speed of a Rs one hybrid kit.
TOW the whole year through-
Kona one/ RX one?
Early days for me, try before buy, thats for shure.
Similar price?
Anybody made a choice, and why?
Olympic dreams will rarely figure in the consideration.
excuse me why didnt you mention the windsurfer one design, they have a fleet at parkdale that races every sunday in summer.
Maybe there is a predudice against windsurfer ones, based on the thought that a board that cannot be railed is not a real raceboard.
Ifeel that myself ![]()
As for being up to date, forget it....unless you own a shop.
Starboard must have been prickled by the RS:one he he
2012 Phantom 377 has "batwings" from mastfoot back to allow quick planing while displacement mode water has the necessary sharp tail. It has a sloping mast tack for upwind railing .
And check the catamaran eek

"The Phantom 295 as you can see on the video is a flying machine. I make also a special dagger Board base on a Formula fin who is soft in the tip who give you more lift and make the board more fun when you are on the rail. On top of that you have the mast position who is higher for up wind non planning condition who give you more leverage to get on the rail and keep it. The board also have a very early planing due to the wider tail and due the lower mast track you get more control for a long board like this. So you push the limit. All this together make the board a lot more Fun than the Bic.
For the Phantom Race 377 is the same concept but more extreme.
For 2013 I will probably make a Phantom Race 320 with the same concept.
Phantom Race 377 : Volume : 263 ; Length : 377 ; Width : 67 ; Tail : 49.1
Phantom 295 : Volume : 192 ; Length : 294 ; Width : 72.5 ; Tail : 52.5 "
So, wait for 2013 for something special in the one board catagory....if u are a heavyweight.
