When does Sandy Point work. I feel wind but is it the right direction for today?
Im at Wilson's Prom and looking for a session. Any other places to consider?

Not a great direction for Sandy Point at the inlet, but try in Waratah Bay maybe. Up towards the Waratah Bay caravan park where the road does a 90 degree right hand turn and heads parallel with the beach. There's a car park on the left just after the turn.
The surf cam at Sandy Point www.triggerbrothers.com.au/surf-cam/sandy-point-surfcam/ doesn't show much action at the moment though.

Thanks Mikey. Any good water at Yanakie? Are you local down this way or just sail here on occasion?

You should drive into sandy point keep going down to shallow inlet. drive onto the inlet beach its hard sand. don't drive out onto the sandbanks. shallow inlet is the speed course. great place when its windy.

its only 12 mins from Waratah Bay

Eastern side of Yanakie (Corner Inlet) is pretty crap- really tidal, but bloody good for fishing! Caught a nice feed there a few weeks ago. I have launched into Shallow Inlet from just next to Shallow Inlet Caravan park, on the western side of Yanakie (Lesters Road), in a NWesterly. You have to watch out for sandbanks. Best direction for Sandy (inlet) is SW.

I just get down that way occasionally to sail if it's windy and fish if it's not. Top part of the world.

Thanks again Mikey. Wind was all over the place but never really enough. And the water was missing! WOW! Went to Sandy and drove on the huge wide hard beach, barely any water. Looked around the corner to see the speed strip. Those dunes are like the ones in Augusta WA. I'd love to have a windy sesh here. Didn't get to Yanakie but looking out that way there appeared to be hogenflat water but again I bet it was shallow being low tide.

I came and did some recon for next time. Mental note to all - need more wind and more water.
