Time to blow the cobwebs off me gear and get back on the water after a decade of being a horrible holiday sailor!

I've moved to near Lara and am tossing up just nipping down to Avalon beach vs Point Henry vs Swan Bay vs somewhere else you nice people might suggest. I'm looking for flat/bump and jump so I can remember how to gybe.

Where are you sailing tomorrow arvo?

If you havent sailed for a while I'd recommend Point Henry. Tomorrows forecast will be cross onshore early then onshore later as the wind increases. Nice and safe. Normally always someone sailing there. Launch spot. As your heading out towards the smelter the road veers L at the first smelter gate and then veers back R and heads towards point. At the R hand veer is a dirt road that heads straight ahead. Numerous carparks and launch spots along there. Just look for the other sailors/kiters. Hope this helps! PS if you going to be sailing in teh Geelong area a weed fin is very helpful!

Thanks red, that makes good sense. I've got my set of weed fins cos I used to sail at Hatteras in the US which is weed city.

I popped down to Avalon this arvo just after low tide when it was blowing 25-30 and the wind was very clean. Seemed knee to waist high for a good ways out too. The 15 minute drive is factoring in here! But I hear you about safety in numbers. That said I've done a few rescues and self rescues in my time so I'm not too concerned. And I got a new rig and universal to be on the safe side. Thanks for the launch site mate. What's Swan Bay like?
