So I'm desperate to get in a sail after work but works inland. Haven't sailed in the bay and want to find a place close to the end of eastlink, as it's my best chance to get to the water. Any suggestions?

Easy Peasy,
Take eastlink all the way down to the Thompsons rd exit. Take Thompsons rd down to the Nepean Highway at Carrum. From there you've got some great options nearby. The best is about 2km Nth along the Highway to Williams Grove, Bonbeach. Carpark on the beach (check it out in Melway) A friendly crew sail here regularly. Good on S, SW,W,NW,N. Anything with East is a bit offshore and a drive to Parkdale or Ricketts solves the problem for a SE.
Hope this helps.

Beware -you need to pay for your parking here unless you can snavell a City of Kingston sticker for your windscreen.

Or head about 1km south from Carrum and sail at Keast park, plenty of grass to rig, toilets / showers, ample car parking and its free...
