Find your small gear you'll need it.
If you are trying to de-power try a smaller fin or Just try sailing for 10 mins.
Borrow from a friend, they won't be using it and if they are sailing you need to sail at the same time you will laugh together.
Tell your boss tonight they will understand
have fun

Roughly 12 sailers sailed on Saturday morning Green Point, Brighton at say 30 to 40 knots.
The sails being used ranged from 4.2 metre for the strong men or the guys that didn't have smaller down to a tiny 3.0 metre. The wind was blowing slightly off shore we had to swim out 50 metres to find the wind.
I weigh ~95 kg used a 3.7 and at times wish I had my 3.3 now this is a sail I don't use much. It was a great day
The one scary thing that happened is we temporarily lost a fellow sailer. We thought he was out sailing but could not see him. His car was in the car park with an empty board bag. I had spoken to him on beach early another guy had seen him sailing but not now. You need to remember it's really windy. In our minds we were thinking how can we send the coastguard out or how would a helicopter go in these conditions and find someone but we were a man down?? Turns out (10mins later) our fellow sailer was sailing 2km up wind loving the conditions.

When sailing in crazy conditions stay together. This was scary we didn't know what to do.

Does anyone have any pictures of the day?

Sure was challenging. A 3.0 would have come in handy that's for sure. That was Landscape Paul that decided to go walkabout, we were one digit off calling the coast guards which would have been a real pain it the butt if we had. He would have been even less popular than he already was if we had.

Stick together on big days boys and girls or let everyone know you are off to meet your maker if you decide to go solo so we don't call the cavalry.
