ahhhh lovely - it was one of those days.
made it to ricketts this morning. at least 16 boards on the water at a time with more arriving. the fun swell was swell fun for the fleet of 4+/-0.5 m2 sails. plenty of action for the spectator - backloops, pushloops, big airs, forwards, over-rotated forwards (attempted doubles?). even the sun came out after a 40+ knot squall. and the water is still (relatively) balmy
. shame it was poo-brown
.
anyone get any photos?
and who was best on ground? I don't really know anyone's names, but some bloke called Fletch seemed to be performing well.
Crazy conditions at Safety Beach at 10:30am, peaking above 40knots and serious bay ramps. I couldn't stay on the water with my 99L and 4.7m. Changed to Mornington but the wind had eased off more than 5knots by then so pretty sweet conditions with my set up. So sore holding my arms up to types is kind of hard. Got to love it.
That was pretty epic. Felt like a newbie with 4.5 during the 51 knots. Barely got in.
Lost my watch mid jibe. If anyone sees a shark wearing on ironman watch you've got my permission to fillet him.
Good work guys and girls. Would love one of those days every Sunday. Just mix up the other tack so it is on my preferred jump direction.
I went to inverloch and hit the fastest speed, I have ever hit today in a few inches of water, a real adrenalin rush with 30 knot gusts blowing in evey few minutes. Instead the of the tide rushing in, it was going out for most of the day. So the main sand bar was exsposed all day, wich made the conditions great for speed sailing.
Me bro also said he got his fastest time ever as well..
There were a couple of other speed junkies out as well on old school gear..
Victoria rocks! i love it, to be able to windsurf with a 3.0 on a sundy that unreal.. sounds like the wind was abit stronger in the bay today..
If I had of gone to dromana I don't think my lost watch would have helped in a potential divorce case. Would have been skinned. Next time.
Fletch that salmon will come back into fashion one day. But seeing as the last two times you've worn it it had blown it's socks off I say wear it, respect it and sacriviixe yhr occasiopnal virgin for it.
Am amazed you pulled e away from his sleep in and loving. Well done. I thought he was lost to the dark side especially going MIA on a big wind day ;)
mount martha was unreal early on...
although
i wish i had sailed as my first port of call.... mornington.... i've never ever seen waves like that in the bay before....chest high, long, peeling right to left, clean, spaced out, lining up and standing up for ages...on a x shore wind... WTF??? but i carried on thinking mt martha would be even better[:o)...but it was just bigger and mushier......i went back to try and score it later on but they had gone..looks like it needs that 30+ wind....
i should have took a pic, ![]()
still,, stoked with the day anyway.
Good day yesterday at safety beach and another good day today at point leo definatly worth getting the day off today shame I was lone ranger.
A guy put photos up from yesterday at saftey beach on radpics.com.au some good ones there too

I thought he deserved a plug for standing on the beach all day in that sort of weather. Point Leo was good a few sizable sets came through I thought you were doing assignments? haha.
Im using my old mast waiting on the new one to come in on warranty so no worries.
