Are there any decent spots around Phillip Island for beginners? A friend has a beach house on the island and his son is wanting to get into windsurfing. I can't think of any good spots but have never sailed that side of Westernport. Inverloch is the closest suitable spot I can think of.

I'm not sure of Philip Island, but yes Inverloch is great spot for beginners.

Cleeland Bight, on the bay side of Woolamai, in a SE to NE is good for learners. It doesn't get too choppy and the beach is nice. There is a car park at the south end of all the houses. Awesome for blasting too when the wind is up.

Cowes Yacht club is also good in anything northerly. Big shark there a couple of years ago, but I am sure he has moved on

Also heaps of quiet beaches around Ventnor etc.
