I'm curious. Would you propose that any/unlimited activity be permitted with 5km/1hr? If not, how long would you propose that the premier spend considering each sport in turn, and in what order should he consider them?
How'bout all sports so long as social distancing rules are observed? Any outbreaks because of e.g. watersports that I don't know of?
He does not need to spend any time considering any specifics of them. The risk of transmission through individual sporting activities is miniscule.
He needed to spend his time on:
1-proper and specific measures for known mechanics of outbreaks
2-how to enforce them to prevent the known positive cases and high risk groups from spreading the virus.
That is the opposite of what he did about the hotel quarantines, outbreaks in abattoirs, part-time workers across multiple aged care homes, positive cases out and about (800 out of 3000 door knocks is simply appalling), incentives for getting tested and self isolation.
The shot gun approach he is taking instead will come at a huge social, mental and economic cost.
I am singling him out: as the Premier he is ultimately accountable. Hearing him complaining about people not following rules, hiding facts, lecturing people, etc... gives me no confidence at all. After all, he is the only premier who lost the control of the situation in Australia and I don't think we have more idiots than other states.
