that will be funny. she will be teaching people in gale force winds at inverloch. i got to see this
maybe she might have to change the lessons to a special high wind lesson for every one.
strong northlys are forecasts to blow fri and satdy. so dont know if she will be able to teach people in those conditions as it blows off shore there. i have sailed there in northlys it's just very gusty![]()
So, just sail across to the sandbar and it'll be onshore! ![]()
Seriously though, it's not a perfect direction for Inverloch but it's relatively safe as your basically surrounded by sandbars. On top of that there will be safety measures in place I'm sure. Sunday's forecast is looking good.
Uhhhm...without being "Captain Obvious" it is only Wednesday...all this talk of weekend breeze might scare it away too early....shhhhh!
+2
BTW a safety boat has been organised with 2 shore watchers and people attending the clinics will be given a safety drill before entering the water. We can also swap the Intermediate classes to the morning and beginners to the afternoon as the forecast is for 10 - 15 kts.
However as soon as we do that that will Skunk the wind foir the day![]()
Allison would not teach without the necessary safety requirements put in place.
10-15 knot light wind forecasts in the afternoon. not for inverloch if a cold front is forecasts i dont think the wind will die down there maybe the bay, but not there.
Crowie,
I thought I might produce for you a waterproof booklet of "The Sights and Sounds of Inverloch Foreshore"- maybe even a talking book, just to make those 3-4km walks back to the launching area more educational and interesting! Maybe Doug would like a copy as well????
Well erm, you see I needed a good walk that day and why not do it.
It is a new sailing technique that I learnt off the guys at the PIT on the 50 kt day during speed week. They sailed one way and walked back the rest. If it is good enough for them why not me. ![]()
We're booked and looking forward to the clinics!!
We had to change from camping to a cabin.
I hate drying out tents and gear.
As for the wind as beginners, I hope someone has some small sails we can borrow.
See you all there!!!
AHH Crowie, you found me out again. A good whiskey and I will do anything.
Echunda, hear you on the small sails. I am sure if I cannot wrangle some from the retailers that there will be a few around.
Allison is very excited about this also as she has not been on the water for a few weeks.
Its amazing what love can do.(It made me give up a days w/s on Sunday
) I reckon Crowie's father in law would be up for it but give him a challenge and put him on the One Design
