Guys - I'm heading down to the Mornington Peninsula this weekend - big WSW forecast for Sunday - how far back towards Melbourne would I need to go to get a decent sail on the bay - Mt Martha? I only have a 150l Board and smallest sail 5.5m - am I kidding myself (I'm hoping given it's protected that the forecast 34 knot breeze will translate to 25 knots down there)?
Safety Beach works well in a WSW. I think that's where I will be if the forecast is still good come Sunday.

You're kidding yourself man. Loving that you want to sail, but if the wind does what is expected, I would struggle with a 70L board and 4m sail . . . . .
Play time at the Pit tomorrow ![]()

Looks like enough wind to make it not too crowded ,5.8, a speedboard and a BIG Grin ![]()
Well that was the best session I've had for ages, out from Pt Ormond. A few gusts over 30kts but mainly high 20's. Gotta love the 1.5-2 metre "bay swell" when it piles up. Where was everyone? The Pit?
I managed to get out at dendy st this arvo supporting a killer hangover which destroyed my already lack of coordination allowing a nice new bend in my boom ![]()
