Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will persist for most of the week. A broad area of low pressure will develop over western Victoria today then become slow moving. A high pressure system will be located in the Bight on Tuesday and Wednesday. The area of low pressure will deepen into a more defined trough early Thursday then move eastwards across the State.
Forecast for Monday until midnight
Winds: Light and variable 5 to 10 knots tending south to southeasterly around midday then tending southerly 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon. Winds south to southeasterly up to 10 knots later in the evening. Seas: Below 0.5 metres increasing to 0.5 to 1 metres by early evening.
Forecast for Tuesday
Winds: Light winds tending south to southeasterly 10 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Seas: Below 0.5 metres rising 0.5 to 1 metre in the afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Wednesday
Winds: Northeasterly 5 to 10 knots tending south to southwesterly up to 20 knots during the afternoon then tending south to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots during the evening. Seas: Below 0.5 metres increasing to 1 metre during the evening. The chance of thunderstorms from midday.
Forecast for Thursday
Winds: North to northwesterly winds 10 to 20 knots turning southwesterly in the evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metre. The chance of thunderstorms.
