At this stage we will have a briefing at Bell Buoy on Sunday at 1pm. There should be a bit of seabreeze to back up the prevailing westerly and generally we have been getting a few more knots than forecast over the last few weeks. Conditions will be mellow and ideal for anyone who hasn't had much time in the water over winter. The sand has been returning and is pretty good below half tide. If the forecast changes I will post an update.

Bakers is a bigger gamble unless the forecast is mostly north west and WNW which it isn't. Bakers could be 18 to 24 or maybe 10 to 20. Often 8 to 10 knots less than Bell Buoy .

Yep, agreed BB preference. But I haven't got 3 hrs to drive to BB and back on a work day

It's not like any weather prediction is worth much. Yesterday the forecast was for 10 to 20. I think Devonport reached 24 to 27 and Low Head 20 to 23. As we move towards the warmer months that Seabreeze becomes a larger and more unpredictable factor.

Bit wet and gusty.
Good to get out though.

There seems to be some possibility that an earlier briefing is needed so it will happen at 11am on Sunday instead of 1 pm

There was wind and sun all day at Bell Buoy for wavesailing event 1. Seven sailors enjoyed the conditions which were mostly pretty mellow and more suited to the faster freewave boards until the middle of the afternoon when the wind was in the 25 to 30 knot range.
I will post a few photos tomorrow.

Conditions on the day were fun but I didn't think they were challenging enough to run heats so everyone who was there got equal points for turning up an spending the time on the water.
The next wave event is about three weeks away so mark your calendars as the spring westerlies seem to have really started to kick in.

Pictures looked ok and report of 20-30 knots in the afternoon sounds pretty good by southern standards.
You northern guys have such high standards !! ha ha

The swell was good early and fun on the bigger gear but as the forecast wind built up to 30 knots the swell got very inconsistent and smaller.
It was a fun 3 hours on the water regardless.

There was better swell last Thursday and Ok for the 4.5 or 4.0.
