Rare weekend trip away for 3 southerners - keen to sail somewhere fun on north coast - flat water blasting preferred, intermediate standard, keen for any local advice on pros / cons of Port Sorell, Lagoon Beach or even Stanley or alternative suggestions. Wind forecast to be NW 15 - 20kn on Sat and W 10- 15 on Sun. LW is mid morning.

Looking at forecast I think the better spot on Saturday would be Lagoon bay, Not overly flat but has some flat sections on lower tides.
Sunday I would pick either Stanley which has a short low tide SW run at low tide or again Low Head. Al will be running some racing at Low Head if the wind comes in as forecast also.

Thanks - don't think we will have time to go to Stanley on Sun - so will pick best location to base ourselves for the weekend. Have got info from the Spotguide - will post any questions
Maybe consider somewhere on the Tamar Saturday with the NW, but then plan for Port Sorell for Sunday. Great direction and wind and midday low tide.
