Without further a do, I shall present the final results in no particular order. Please put your hands together and bow down to the new Tasmanian overall Champion..................
MR DAVE MOREHEAD
Contributing to the overall result:
This year we had 3 very succesful rounds of Slalom; Dorans Road, Port Sorell and Stanley.
One formula/Race event was held at the Bellerive Showdown regatta in extremely light and challenging conditions.
GPSTC results contributed towards members overall ranking and in some cases held a large weight in individuals final results.
Overall Slalom:

3rd James Brient............ThesZU/Severne/Starboard/C3

A big Congratulation to Anthony Perkins for taking out first place in tassie for the 2012 GPSTC.
Anthony also managed to hold off Izaak by one point to claim the prestigious Contributors Cup.
Due to the lack of support and the continuance of less than favourable conditions; it has been decided that Formula/Racing events will not contribute to the overall rankings next year.
Wavesailing made a come back this year, unfortunately only one event was run. Next year Wavesailing will be included in the overall rankings and we are hoping to have at least 3 events run.

Well done to everyone that took the time to support Windsurfing in Tasmania.
A big thankyou to Damien Wallace in the south and Alan Cook in the North that always go out of their way to make sure we have the gear we need. Their efforts and enthusiasm to assist in the organisation and running of the Beginner days at both ends of the state have helped to promote the sport and also bring our community closer together.
And a big pat on the back to all those that help out to run events and make sure we all have an awesome time![]()

To top of the year Tasmania has a small contingency heading to Green Island in Cairns to compete in the National Slalom and Freerace Titles. The competitors will be flying the flag high for our small state, supporting and pushing each other to do the best we can against the best Aussie and Kiwi sailors.
The Team:
Dave Morehead(Captain)
Izaak Perkins
Karen Robertson
Kaleb Smith
James Brient(yet to confirm)
Happy Sailing to all![]()

Well done Kaleb, nice work putting all this together. How did you work out the GPSTC part for the overall.
Well done Dave for winning the Overall and Anthony for highest placed Tassie in the GPSTC and contributors cup.
Thanks Steve![]()
To calculate the GPSTC into the overall rankings I firstly removed all the sailors that were not fully paid 'competitor' members of windsurfing Tasmania.
I then went through and reranked everyone accordingly.
The 6 GPS catergories counted the same as if we had held 6 races. This means we had 6 different categories that had members recieving first, second, third......and so on.
We ended up having 25 'races'(16 slalom, 3 race, 6 GPS) this ment that competitors could drop their 5 worst results. So their 20 best results were tallied together to come up with their total overall points. ![]()
Congratulations everyone on your results. Great to see so many sailors in the Stanley event. Looks like there is a large number of slalom competitors up North,
well done![]()

Congrats to all and especially Dave for winning everything
Nice one Kaleb on working it all out, i know it wouldnt have been a small task![]()
Congratulations everyone.
For the small number of windsurfers in Tassie, the standard is incredibly high!!
Thanks to you guys at the top, and a second tier following hot on your heels!
Considerable talent and commitment, but mostly a whole lot of fun going on out there. Its great to see it happening.
