Hi,
Going to drag my windsurfing trailer around Tasmania for two weeks early January - camping with the family :) .
Looking for some good flat water blasting or Bump & Jump. Happy to get some ideas of anywhere in Tassie to sail.

I've seen reference to Cremorne, Pipe Clay Lagoon & Clifton Beach - which looks awesome. Which direction do they work in?
Any camping grounds around you guys/girls recommend that has a good windsurfing spot?

Cheers!

Plenty of places to camp etc.

Different winds for different beaches but they are all less then 1/2 hr drive.

Other places in the deserted nth west. Check out nomadic.com.au. And of course these forums to find out where the locals are going.

Stanley has a great Caravan park next to the beach. You can sail out off there in a NE or in the spit for some flat water or zoom in & out of the spit for a bit of both.

The caravan park at Hawley/Port Sorell is close to the water and the caravan park at Low Head is also pretty close.

Don't forget the north east. Georges Bay is where I sail and St Helens has two camping grounds, one right near the town and one out on St Helens Point Road near Stieglitz. Good flatwater sailing in anything from north east round north to south west.

Taz if you're camping with your family the east coast is a must
St Helens is a good start and make a day trip north of there
Coles bay is another spot to check out with plenty of camping beautiful scenery and great for kids and good flat water sailing
