The Stanley long weekend is only two weeks away now and I was wondering who will be going. This was a fantastic weekend last year, it is a good place to catch up with your mates and there are good options regardless of the wind direction.
I nearly missed out this year. I said to the missus that I was going and she said that if half the things she heard about the stupid, drunken, childish behaviour of last year were true she was going to put the foot down and that would be the end of that.![]()
Now any sailboarder worth his salt knows that a quick tack can sometimes get you out of trouble so I said "But dear, Houston isn't going this year".
Isn't he? Well that's OK then, you go and have a good time.
Heh Heh Heh
Gidday Ben, looking forward to catching up. Just hoping there is at least a sniff of wind around. Looks like I may get some practice in this weekend.
Yep Awright! Just behave yourselves on Pegg's Beach!! Don't care what you get upto
in the camping area and out on the bay but leave a bit of room for Occam's Razor to cut away all the BS.. Last time I was out Speed was the name of the game and if the winds are right it will be again.
Razor Driver
Yep, Geri and I will be there.
Ron, you may have some competition from the guys with their landsailors (windsurfer rig on a beefed up skateboard)!!
hey iceman if theres breeze on georges bay this weekend im in for a practice session, followed by a boags practice session at my gaff after to prepare you for stanley ( if you can get a leave pass for a couple); cheers jason;
Hello Johno, good to see you back. Shoulder feeling OK now? We may be able to have a sail at Swansea some time.
Jason, could be a go on Saturday arvo early or Sunday. Have to see what the weather is like. I'll give you a call if I'm going.
I have a leave pass so I'll be up, might also try and get a day at Marrawah if the conditions are right
Hope your right about the wind Jordan. Not too happy about missing out on last saturday but at least I was in sunny QLD. 30 deg. Looking foreward to a good run at Stanley.![]()
Good to see you back on the water Johno, and cracking 40ies!
Reluctantly due to a dodgy, light looking forecast, I've decided I won't be coming up to Stanley. It works out a bit costly after driving up there last weekend and then to drive up again this weekend with a dodgy forecast. And I have stacks of renovating to be done as well. It's a real bugger that we've tried to run slalom events this year and the wind hasn't played it's part, I'm so keen to give it all a good go. May I make a suggestion about events WT run next season that the event is decided about 5 days before so the forecast can be studied beforehand. Tassie really is a small place to get around and windsurfers being windsurfers seem to be able to sail if it's going to be good any where in the state. All the best for Stanley, hope you get some sort of sail in be it land or sea.![]()
No worries Kazza we'll raise it at the meeting. This one is probably a bit hard to change with the agm tacked on.
