Having to resort back to blister healing time out Ben Newson recommended putting super glue over the top of it but I don't like the idea of putting chemicals over an open wound Any others ideas welcome.

Just stay hooked in and go for no handed forward loops from now on!!!
Seriously though there are blister patches at the chemist, try those under fingerless gloves

Nipple cream is the way to go Kazz.

Many pro sailors use it including Jem Hall

This is about the only subject I've ever been confident enough to say I'm an expert.
Many many moons ago at Gnaraloo with Buzzy and Simon I suffered lacerated hands after 3 days into 9 days sailing and the last 6 days hurt like hell.
Same Marrawah after 3 days my hands are usually stuffed.
In Morocco I bandaged my hands from day 1 and they still fell to bits even after 4 months of sandpaper and metho.
So along comes Mexico, again I was sh.tting myself, how do I keep them in tact for 2 weeks straight in waves. After day 2 they started to fall to bits then this sheila from the UK convinced me to use this Mexican cows udder cream.......................it worked a treat........... the idea is to soften the callouses so they don't rip off. I bought a tin at the camp.
Turns out Wally is right, nipple cream does the same and being that you're not a Mexican dairy farmer you might have to try the latter.
Now that is not my usual bullsh.t that's the god dam truth.........................hallelujah

Cow udder cream is the best. You can get it from Roberts in Campbell St.washin with salt water will toughen the skin too.
manual labour is a good maintenance strategy. Start a kitchen gardenan dig it by hand= tough hands. If ou don't like manual labour get some 80 grade sandpaper and sand your hands every evening when yo watch TV. That was a trick some "soft" windsurfers showed me!

No amount of nipple cream of udder juice is going to help a ripped open wound.
Just get the right super glue if your worried.

It's common practice in many sports to apply super glue to open blisters (finger tips for guitar playing) to be able to keep going without pain and worry. It's not called Instant Callous for no reason.

Even the best superglue will come off after half hours sailing.
Like I said my hands were falling to pieces calicouses starting to peel off then I applied the cream at least four times a day especially when just got out of water and they come right. I've seen ground men cry with hands bleeding but after applying cream they come right in a day. It might sound like being a pussy but it works.

Wow all these suggestions are great, thank you guys I don't normally have problems but I lost my left hand callus at GI, got totally ripped off so now I have baby skin there. Sailing last Saturday formed a blister then Tuesday's effort ripped that blister apart. Pain in the butt! I think if I slowly build up sailing hrs instead of binge sailing will be the best bet. Just have to wait until the little bugger heals over now which is probably a week away

Well, some of the kids had another great impromptu sail at Doran's today in the SE seabreeze. Good fun, no blisters, and the water was warm, clear and looking and feeling tropical over the sandy parts. They seem to be getting the hang of it these school holidays. Relic's son Max impressed reaching back and forwards and sailing really well. My daughter Cholada also did well uphauling and then attempting a set of 10 consecutive gybes - I think she pulled it off (please ignore Relic in the foreground!):
