Clyde Eastaugh, the father of Andrew Eastaugh (Easty), has passed on some sad news today that he would like to share. Clyde's son Easty, has unfortunately passed away this week. Following an enjoyable windsurfing session, last weekend on his new board, he suffered a massive stroke. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Clyde hopes to have a celebration gathering for him at this point. Next Sunday in Hobart. Will let people when and where, when details are known.
Rest in peace mate, from Anthony and Izaak.
That is the sadest possible news. Found out last night and still cannot believe it. Only sailed with him last weekend, such a nice guy. Will be missed by all, rip Easty.
That's such sad news he often brought his family and friends down to the pond for picnics a real family man and a great bloke.
I'm away so won't be there to share the good times with his family so send him off well wish I was there. RIP EASTY
Anderw (Easty)
I will miss you mate.
Our passion and love of family and windsurfing that we often shared was an inspiration to me. When we went sailing it was like we were school boys again.
I did have a total blast sailing with you last weekend discussing your new board, I was so excited for you mate and I know you had a blast.
I have had so many happy days over many years on the water with you.
You are very dear friend and I will keep you always close in my thoughts.
RIP EASTY

That is so so sad. Cant believe this has happened. All down here will agree and will hold on to memories of a wonderful and uplifting man.
Very sad news,
I cannot believe Easty and I were only having a laugh in my shed just before he went sailing on the weekend.
Easty will be missed by all windsurfers in Tasmania and everyone this forum.
When most of us started posting on Seabreeze Forum Easty was already a regular.
We will miss his input, great sense of humor and presence on the water.
RIP Easty
Very sad news, rip easty.
Without his help we probably wouldn't have these forums, I the early days Easty was the one who really helped out with the in-house forums we had.

All are warmly invited, to an informal gathering to share memories of Andrew. At the Cascade visitors centre. 140 Cascade Rd, South Hobart, Friday, August 14th, 2:30pm-4:30pm.
A very hard day but nice to see so many Windsurfers turn up. It was nice to have the opportunity to speak to Andrews mum and dad .
It was great to see through words and pictures what a great life Andrew had in his short time, including his desire for expeditions, love of sports and being a very adventurous person. He was lucky to to have a beautiful wife and children
He will be sadly missed.
Andrews Dad Clyde says thanks to all his windsurfing mates that turned up.
I would have loved to have gone but really wouldn't have coped with it, but I was thinking about it all & Easty at the time it was on.
Driving passed Dorans this week I've felt for him and can still feel his presence there sailing backwards & forwards.
The last sail I remember having with Easty was in the pond last summer and we were hammering up & down the oyster rack speed run in turns and he was rapped with his PB speeds there because of his new fin. I was jealous cause he was faster than me that day
but also pleased for him to be stoked about his speeds![]()
Thanks for for posting how the day went up ther Damo, I was wondering![]()
The very man who introduced me to windsurfing in 1999, was a close friend, mate ,housemate and a special speaker at my wedding.

RIP Easty
