With lots of hands on board ( hopefully twenty plus) this will not take long and we will be pretty much finished by 3.30 if the wind is in !
Clarence council have donated a skip bin that we can have delivered to save the tip run .
last oyster cleanup was a huge success with a 1.5 meter strip removed from the entire length of tev windsurfing foreshore

Note sure what forecast that is Steve..
From BOM for Sat
Im in Damo - rain, hail, sub zero temps or 38 degrees. Steve, where did that forecast come from??
What tools do we bring? Gloves and boots yes, but anything else? Hammer for chipping oysters off the big rocks? 20 ton excavator?
Also, looks like it might (I did say MIGHT) blow easterly in the arvo for a southarm wave sail in the arvo??
Morgan as Damien here!!!>
Gumboots a great help to wade out into shallow water, Gloves,
we take rocks and all as perhaps chipping or smashing is not a good idea after comment from Rafa about potential to encourage spawning.
Just got confirmation , Clarence Council have helped out with a skip bin so lets make the most of it.
This Saturaday after lunch till 3pm.
Oyster clean up starts at 1.30 on Saturday ( no rules but thats when tide is starting to get low enough).
Council bin will be dropped off tomorrow at 2pm and we will have it till Monday.
The tide height will be .71cm at 1.30pm and down to .49 cm at 3.30.
i just checked then at at .86cm there were plenty of oysters exposed.
Bring your bucket, Gumboots or old boots , gloves.
Everyone who windsurfs at Dorans will appreciate and benefit from a oyster free launch area
Security have been asked to slash tires of anyone windsurfing locally.
It is not often that we get a bin donated so we should make the most of it.
Plenty of wind around after the job is done, we will be finished by 3-3.30., Wind looks goods for offshore dorans, Goats or Cremorne.
P.S Marion tide is too low
Looks like we have some good support for this cleanup , windsurfers along with kitesurfers and are all keen to rid the area of nasty OYSTERS!
TOMORROW 1-1.30 TO 3 PM , plenty of windsurf time after that.
Local residents who dont use the area are going to help out , thankyou
Clarence council have kindly donated a $3-400 plus bin hire so lets get into it!!!!
If anyone has spare buckets ( the white 20 litre are good) please bring them along.
For yourself bring buckets, gloves , boots, sunscreen and drinks.
well done organising this Wally.
sorry not helping out today, the commute was a bit long.
How does the beach look now ?
Thanks everyone for helping out, that was great. The 5 cubic meter bin was filled to the brim.
We will do it again sometime sooner than later and fill another one !
Maybe we could get the council to put up a sign,
This area pattially maintained by windsurfing Tas ?
Or similar
I wonder how bad that bin smells this morning after sitting in 28 degrees for the past 2 days?
Great effort. Look forwards to the next clean up.
