Hi Guys and Gals
As per the event calendar we are hold a wave event in the Low head area this coming weekend either Sat. or Sun. if the conditions turn it on. Ben and I have no idea how to run an event so we will be looking for some assistance when the time comes to work out best locations.
It will be the same format as the southern comp and once we have a better forecast we will post info. At this stage its not looking too good but that could change quickly as we have been getting a fair bit of wind up this way over the last week. We had 6 out today at Bell Buoy.

I reckon they'll be a few up from the south if the wind turns it on.

Paul, suggest same format as the Southern Comp, seems to work well and everyone gets a good sail, just copied this from the southern post.

The location and briefing time will be determined closer to the event.

The format will be an Expression Session with a 4 person final.
An Expression Session means we all sail together as we would on a normal session in the waves. At the end of the session we all get to vote for who we think are the 4 best sailors on the day. Those 4 sailors will compete in the final to determine a result.

All competitors must be a member of Windsurfing Tas, you can join on the day if you're not already a member, we will have membership forms on the day. Competitive membership is $50 which covers all competitions for the season.

Contact Paul Tenteye 0417326733/63274108, Ben Wilson 0400638795, post on this forum or just turn up on the day.

This is a fun event, whether you "think" you are a pro or just starting out in the waves for the 1st time you are all welcome and encouraged to compete.
Come and join da fun

At this stage Saturday looks like we will have some wind but not many waves. The forecast is WSW swinging more westerly during the day which is what has been happening lately during the afternoons when it warms up.
The advantage of having small waves is it will give any newcomers to wave sailing a perfect opportunity to give it a go, unfortunately for the hard core big move guys not so good. We will keep an eye on the forecast over the next couple of days and see what happens and make a call later this week.

Looks to be a bit on the light wind extremely small wave size up this way for the weekend. Real keen top get back into waves after a long period of abstinance. The forecast looks better for down south. The guys down there used to sail a place called Sandpits in a westerly years ago, pretty awesome sailing as I recall. Anyway hope the pattern changes and Low Head ends up with something for you boys and girls.

We have decided to cancel this event due to poor conditions forecast for both days. The wind forecast is only about 15 knts on Sat.with practically no swell. Sunday looks even worse. Hopefully something will happen for the next wave event scheduled on the calendar.
