Don't be fooled by Vietzy's 30 knot PB today on the pond (see gpstc site).
A couple of years ago there was an epic forecast for Stanley.
I was in the area, so took a day off work and went along.
The regular Northern guns turned up.
Buzzy's cruiser turns up, out spills Vietzy, from passenger side, can in hand. (High speed dash from Hobart)
Buzzy rigs his gear.
Buzzy rigs spare gear for Vietzy.
Buzzy instructs Vietzy briefly on how to speed sail.
Tide drops, water goes flat, everyone hits it.
Vietzy does a couple of runs, hits 40 knots, comes in and has another can. Or two.
The guns heads over to the third channel, big speeds happening.
We watch Buzzy screaming down the run, then catapult.
Buzzy walks / drags / swims his gear (broken sail or mast or something) back, breaking his little toe on the way stubbing it on something.
The toe is sticking out at right angles to his foot.
He re-rigs and goes back out, chasing bigger faster numbers.
Pretty awesome day to witness those two efforts.
They're both wallies though.

Sorry, I did think you were already a member, but accepted your new member request without checking. I'll see what we can do to reset your password so you can go back to your original 'veitz' ...

OK, password has been sent to Damo. If you can repost your last session to your original username, we'll delete your new one. Don't want you losing your 40knot PB!!
