Just curious, any news on the restriction to sailing in Moulting Lagoon?

Hi Iceman
I have'nt heard anything but Jack and I made an executive decision today to sail there over christmas /new year and see what happens. You only get a warning the first time anyway. Well actually nothing happened the second time either. I have sailed there about twenty times and been caught twice. You rig up about 600 m past the Friendly Beaches turn off on the R.
Last week I sailed at Robbins Island in the NW and I have never seen so many swans heaps more than Moulting Lagoon where I have only ever seen about 4.

You are not allowed to go windsurfing there?

I looked up Moulting Reserve on Google and a management plan came back that duck hunting was to continue there.

Has anyone ever ran into or over a bird when windsurfing?

What a joke.

Moby we have had a meeting with the environment minister and he was pretty much on our side after we informed him about being allowed there in a speed boat any time and to shoot ducks during the season. The management plan comes up for review soon so we will try to have it change then.

I agree with the govt policy of not letting us sail in the beautiful lagoon full of wildlife.
I'm a member of the Wilderness Society, Green Peace, Conservation Trust, World Heritage Trust, National Trust and all other trusts and and if you knew anything about guns you'd know they are not dangerous to humans, ducks or any other wildlife as 350 million people in the USA who own an AK47 could tell you.
Whereas a quiet sail can wipe out a whole flock of swans in one pass, place the common wood duck close to extiction by just the sight of a sail.
So you self centered windsurfers that only think of their own existance, just get over it and keep away from the duck shooters and their lagoon.
